Our Services
Flashblack's core business can be broken down into four areas:
Arts & Cultural Export
Flashblack is arguably the nation's leader when it comes to putting together an Export program that showcases the best of Indigenous Arts & Culture.
Flashblack connects with many Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and has a proud record of getting the job done with sensitivity and sensibility.
In 2008, Flashblack successfully designed and brokered a Cultural Exchange Project between the Ainu and Indigenous Australians from the Minh Pora and Wanum groups.
It was the first time for all participants to travel overseas to Japan and this needed a tight plan to ensure the initiative's success.
Flashblack Director Jeremy Geia is also working with the world famous Mornington Island Dance group and the Bentinck Island Artists.
He is designing a cultural program on the Island to develop and recruit new singers and a younger generation of performers and artists.
Social Marketing
Designing a multi faceted initiative that pulls a crowd and gets the message across is a tough challenge for many Agencies or organizations looking for an outlet to develop their policies or program ideas.
You can relax now as Flashblack also provides this service. This emerging area of FB is one that we are keen to further explore after the success of the Life in Lyrics Project.
This initiative was created as part of the Queensland Government's Alcohol and other Substance Demand Reduction Program.
Life in Lyrics was a Hip Hop Holiday Program that helped young people express themselves through Dance & Rap about issues relating to Alcohol.
The Communities of Pormpuraaw, Lockhart River, Kowanyama, Palm Island and Napranum were involved.
Innovation & Learning
When it comes to thinking outside the box - then Flashblack enjoys its time in the fast lane of alternative solutions. Education is at the very heart of all programs that FB takes part in.
From Media training through to Graphic Design workshops Flashblack provides the stability and creativity when showing the ropes of new industries to new audiences. Give us a call and talk about some of our achievements.
Event Management
Flashblack made a splash on the Events Scene in 2003 when it helped put the Laura Aboriginal Dance and Cultural Festival on in the heart of Cape York.
This Biennial event regularly features Aboriginal communities from the region and Flashblack. With his influence and direction Jeremy has helped turn the event around with the last 2 Festivals.
Not only have the Festivals been in the Black financially - they have more importantly met cultural and financial reporting obligations, which have resulted in fine shows of Indigenous, pride and Self Esteem.
Once again Jeremy Geia will help put together the next Laura Festival and 2009.
